TIP04 - Trending Towards Relief

If you were in Dallas, Texas, and you wanted to get to New York City... you could head either north or east, and you would be trending towards your destination... right? So let me ask you:

  • Would you absolutely need to know how far you had to travel before you headed out?
  • Would you need to know the "perfect" directions to be confident you could get there?
  • Would you give up if there were some unexpected detours along the way?

The journey from dis-ease to well-being is like the trip from Dallas to NYC, where you don't exactly know how far, or the exact directions, and the route is not likely to be a bee-line without what feels like detours, delays... even missteps. So how do you guide yourself on such a journey with surprising calm confidence?

Our pain relief tip:

Use feelings of RELIEF as your way of knowing you are heading towards all you desire in terms of physical and emotional well-being. Your inner guidance system uses physical and emotional sensations of relief to guide you.

It's a lot like playing the hiding game Hotter-Colder. In this game someone goes out of the room and an object such as a piece of delicious chocolate is hidden. They then come back into the room and as they get closer to the hidden object, they are told by the others that they are getting hotter. As they move away from the object, they are told that they are getting colder. If they get very close they are "burning." If very far they are "freezing."

As you listen to your body-mind-spirit communicating with you, if you feel more and more stress, tension, and dis-ease symptoms, you are getting "colder." If you feel ANY relief, you are getting "warmer."

Trending towards relief... from wherever you are right now... is what really matters... just as simply trending towards NYC will eventually get you there (even if you started off by taking the long way (south and west) and are now feeling "hopelessly lost somewhere in the South Pacific." You can still get to where you want to be... by trending in the direction of relief!

It's really that simple. Of course, the skills of listening and following your inner guidance, shifting emotionally stressful states, and releasing limiting beliefs are important ones to learn... and practice... which is why they are so core to the Pain Relief with EFT Program.
